Northumberland Fusiliers
« on: Wednesday 31 January 07 22:28 GMT (UK) »
My father was in the Royal Northumberland Fusilers. He ended up on the Burma Railway and a POW out there.
My brother has been in contact with someone who was there with my dad.
I know he was in Changi POW camp, but was possibly moved near to hellfire pass. He became a kind of medic in his pow camp..seing to the ill and dying and dead.
Anyone had a relative there who is stil living now and may have known my dad or anyone in the RNF?

Hi Debby,

If you have not done so already I would recommend that you join the fepow site run by Ron Taylor. There you will find an excellent band of people who do research on the far east prisoners of war and the far east ( which in my opinion is sadly over looked and at times forgotten about). Many of the members had rellies who were taken prisioner by the Japanese and they, the members, have a wealth of information that they willingly share (just like here) the site can be found at  http://groups.yahoo.com/group/Fepow-Community
joining is free and once you have done that (and been accepted) post what you have about your dad and you never know just what might come back.
