Bren- have you tried tracking down the other branches of Henrietta's descendants? Often different branches have different information and it's worth seeing what others might have.

Hi aghadowey

Yes I made contact with a descendant of one of Liesette's sisters in November.
She had photos with names, but didn't know who they were.

I had all the names but no photos, so that was a great win/win situation.

But her "family myths" seemed to be just as unreliable as ours were!

Will get in contact again as she must be back from holiday by now.

Bren

How about tracking down descendants of Henrietta's son Francis Henry Arrowsmith? If Francis was named for Henrietta's father maybe that branch would have some clues.

Good point.

I had lost track of him after the 1881 Electoral roll and assumed that he had gone back to Ireland after his wife died in 1886.

I know!  One should never assume.....

Although the woman that I met in November would have known if they were still around as her branch had more contact as they stayed around Wellington.

It's on my list of things to do tomorrow.
Must get some sleep.

Bren.
