I'm looking for the birth of William Rowland born Childray c 1821.
I would love to find his parents names.

Where have you got his birth place from.Have you found him on any census?

Think I see now 1851 servant 32 Walcott Somerset.not much help there then!

Hi Joanna,
I think we are related!  My gg grandmother was Martha Rowland, daughter of William Rowland and Joanah (Young),
born 20 Sept. 1799, Childrey. I am busy at the moment,
but later, I'll dig out my notes and see if I have anything on a William born in 1821. He might even be a younger brother of Martha ( she was the oldest child).
This is the first time that I have found anyone even remotely related on RC. Quite exciting.

Hi again,
Sorry about the delay. Not had time to search for notes until today. Also sorry to say that I have nothing on your William.
I do have a William, but much too early to be your man. I had my Marthas mixed up, gg gran was not the oldest child
and brother William was born in 1796.
Rowland was not a very common name and Childrey was not a large place, so we probably do have a connection somewhere. I'll get back to you if I come across anything.
Hope someone else can look up William's baptism
