Thanks ever so much for your list, I am comparing it to the list I have made from a Shropshire Parish Records CD that I have, to see if I have missed anthing.  As the name varied in its spelling I also have entries under  GRISE and GRYCE.
Do you also have Grice ancestors ?

My research has taken me to WILLIAM Brown born Wellington 1830
parents
 JOHN Brown b. 1807 and Sarah (nee Hazlewood) m 1825
parents
JOHN BROWN b. ca. 1778 and Sarah (nee Hazlewood) m 1806

William married MARY Grice  b. 1831 dau of THOMAS GRICE  b. 1799 and ELEANOR

  1841-1871 Census state that THOMAS  was born 1801 in Leighton

According to the Leighton Parish Register transcriptions Thomas Grice was born in  1799 to John and Ann Grice but I am wondering if this is a transcibers mistake as a Thomas Grice (widower) marries Anne Fletcher spinster in 1785
they go on to have
 1787 James Fletcher
 1789 Francis
 1793 Anne1797 Elizabeth
then comes an entry
1799 Thomas to JOHN and ANN Fletcher
1804 Mary

Should John really read THOMAS

I have looked at the surrounding Parishes and cannot find the birth or marriage of a John Grice who would tie in and I really need to get a look at the original Parish Records.

I think there is also an earlier connection to the Browns and the Grices.

In my quest to find the parents of JOHN BROWN b. ca. 1778 Wellington
I have two choices of parents, and I favour a WILLIAM BROWN and Mary (nee PRITCHARD).
John B. 1778
Samuel 1784
Tracing my BROWN line back through the various Census's they were all Millwright/Carpenters.
 
Acc. to the 1821 Wellington Census  MARY BROWN living Crown Street Occ. Innkeeper. Living there also is a MARY GRICE and MARIA GRICE aged 20 and 21
Samuel Brown aged 37

Found births of both these girls Anne Maria  GRICE and Mary Brown GRICE daughters of Thomas and Mary Grice (nee Brown)
Mary died aged 30 in 1806.

What was the connection between the two girls and  Inkeeper  MARY, was she their grandmother ?

Am trying to prove that   Mary (Innkeeper) was formerley PRITCHARD and wife of   William BROWN.

Any help  is GREATLY appreciated in sorting out these families.
