Yaxley - photo - group disch. soldiers & sailors - 1919
« on: Sunday 11 February 07 16:58 GMT (UK) »
Hi
I would love to find out something about this picture.  It was among a packet of photos my mother-in-law sent me, all unidentified but apparently family pictures.
I think the picture is great, and the "ladies" are all so attractive !!
If anyone can give me any information, no matter how trivial it would be wonderful.
Family names include Hall, Thompson, Brown and Beck.
Desperately seeking:
Martha Ann Keily - Limerick/Woolwich mid 1800s
Mary Jane Hawkins - Bridgwater c.1835
George Gulson - Warmfield or Mansfield 1790s

Well, I googled Discharged solsiers federation and got this:
http://www.maney.co.uk/contents/fch/7-1#a3

So there was a national organisation for a while.
I guess this was the 'Yaxley' branch.
Yaxley being just outside Peterborough, dominated by the brickworks

I wonder who F.A.Y was who initialled the photo? (assuming that it is the initials of the person who took it?)
Edmonds/Edmunds - mainly Sussex
DeBoo - London
Green - Suffolk
Parker - Sussex
Kemp - Essex
Farrington - Essex
Boniface - West Sussex
