Does anyone know why a person might have two entries in the civil registration births index?
I found a relative's birth indexed in 1980 (3rd Quarter) and against the printed page number was a hand-written note that read M'82.
So I looked at the March 1982 page image and found the person again - the name, mother's maiden name, district and volume were exactly the same, but the page number was quite a bit lower.
Does anyone know what's going on, and what's the true reference?
Cheers,
