David PEACE - WRY 1841 > COMPLETED WITH THANKS!!
« on: Thursday 15 February 07 04:04 GMT (UK) »
Hello all!

The individual I am interested in is :
David PEACE b abt 1810 Loxley, Bradfield.
He was married to Mary ROGERS (b abt 1811) in 1830

And I am wanting to follow his family (wife & chd thru the Census) - so any help on the following is truly appreciated! Throughout I am particulary interested in the actual township or village they might be in as opposed to the RD they come under, and in their street address', Here goes  ;D

Q1) 1841 -At Eccleshall BierlowRD -  HO107/1333/4,  Folio: 17,  Page: 26
Could I please have a check on the Census, for  a) David's  occupation and b) have a real good look at the 3 yr old child in the house - is it a female named Sarah or could it be a male name Joah?

Q2) 1851 - Age 41 in Nether Hallam RD -   Piece2336,  Folio 130,  pg23
Could I please have a street name/address  if there is one, and his occupation. Also, have a look at the 13 year old in the house - a male named ? Is it Joah?

Q3) 1861 - Age 52 in  RD: Nether Hallam, Piece 3463, Folio 73
If I could have full details of the household, address etc of that household.

Q4) 1871 - Age 62 at RD Eccleshall, Piece 4663, Folio127
If I could have full details of the household, address etc of that household.

Q5) 1881, David is deceased (1876 Sheffield) but Mary appears to be at RD Wortley, Bradfield  - Piece 4620,  Folio27, pg20.  I can see her household on  free transcripts BUT really want to have a good double check on the George PEACE in the house whom 2 sources describe as "age 37 Grandson" which I think is impossible!??

That's it for Mary and David as I beleive Mary died 1882 in Worley RD age 71 - will follow their children up as required in new topics (some details of which I already have),

Thanks a lot!

Cheers

Thanks Karenlee  ;D That's great!

Oh, good re "37" yr old George, that was puzzling me!

Re Q1 and 2 - thanks for the clarification on names - which now leaves me with the questions:

Where is Sarah in 1851 - though there are some deaths in Eccleshall Bierlow for a Sarah PEACE 1841 to1851, so I'll leave that for now, she may have died.

Where is Joah in 1841 - ............ I know I said  I'd follow kids up on new topics - but ...just this one! I wonder, I think there is a Josiah PEACE in Yorkshire 1841 - Could be him?  age is indexed as abt 5 though - would you be able to have a look for me for details of that house?

Many thanks again

Cheers  ;D

Yeah, but it keeps me in red wine and undies so it can't be too bad.

I'm sure you will sort out the Joah/Sarah thing soon, with so many useful people inhabiting the virtual corridors of Rootschat.

Hi, just registered with RootsChat and saw your messages etc.   William & Mary Peace (nee Barlow) lived in the beautiful Loxley Valley and were sawgrinders and farmers.   I can go further back to about 1715 but to keep things simple,  David Peace was their eldest son and I am descended from him.   Then there was George Peace and Elizabeth Crookes, then George Peace and Florence Swift, then Ann(ie) Elizabeth Peace married to Wm Henry Clarke, then my dad Wm Henry and my mo Mary Colley and then me.
I have lots of info and certs to back these facts up.  Our family of Peace came from Bolton on Dearne and were listed as blacksmiths and were parish clerks in their spare time and witnessed lots of marriages in that region.
If I can help further, let me know.   I live in Sheffield.
