The elusive Elizabeth

I am trying to trace an Elizabeth McMahon born around 1880. Mainly, I require her birth certificate but am having great difficulty locating it.

Her parents were Thomas McMahon and Margaret McGrory.

I have found them on a number of census returns in the Birkenhead (Merseyside) area and each time Elizabeth's birth is confirmed at around 1880.

Thomas and Mary were married in 1881 ... so there could be some funny business! Elizabeth McGrory perhaps?

I would definately look for Elizabeth McGrory.

Also do you have the parents marriage certificate?  It should tell you if the mother was previously married.

I have the marriage certificate. No sign of a previous marriage.

I will search for McGrory.

Any other ideas anybody??
