Hi Jane,
Many thanks for the information. I was wondering about John Matthews' parents, Richard and Ann.
When I searched on Familysearch the Holme Pierrepoint match was the only one that came up on that website.
I don't have the parish records on CD, so was just wondering if anyone has it and could do a search?
Thanks.

Hi

I have the NFHS BMD CDs. Post each specific request and a rough date and what you want to know. The look ups are much quicker then.

Hi Jane Swan,
I'd like a marriage look up for Richard and Ann Matthews around 1740 in Tollerton with their parents name if possible.
Also William and Elizabeth Wild around 1748 in West Leake, again with parents names, if possible.
Many thanks.

Hi Burto

There are only 2 in the 1700s

Richard Matthews & Ann Housely 30.9.1729 Adbolton (see Holme Pierrepont)

    "             "          "   "    Glover  23.7.1769  Tollerton

I also tried Mathews and Anne but no further results. I didn't put the parish in the search either.

If neither of these fit let me know why eg dates of children and I will think about it.

The only one is

William Wyld and Elizabeth Johnson 6.7.1741 at Egmanton. I think this is too far away.

There are marriages at East and West Leake for this time period.

There is a marriage at St Nicholas in Nottm

William Wild & Elizabeth Moor 23.7.1753 but both of this parish.

Are you fairly certain of the parishes where they lived and the dates? If you are it may need a trip to the archives.

Hi Jane Swan,
I'm really going on what you and HeatherB have looked for me with regards to Richard and Ann Matthews.
Their son, my ancestor, John was baptised in Tollerton 15/02/1740, so it would have to be the Richard Matthews and Ann Housley, as the second marriage was too late.
Would it be possible to try and find all the children this couple had?
I suppose it is possible as John's Baptism was only 11 years after they married.

Hi HeatherB,
Many thanks for that...I've modified this after looking and checking distances between Holme Pierrepoint and Tollerton...about 5 miles, so this is the right couple I think.
But where do I go now? Looking on Familysearch, there are many Ann Housley's born around 1709..how would I get a clue as to which one is the right one?
There is one in Selston, one in Arnold and a couple in Derbyshire.
There seems to be a Richard Matthews born in Frampton Lincolnshire and an Ann Housley born in Haxley Lincolnshire, but the route planner doesn't recognise this as a place  ???
Could anyone do a search for Richard Matthews b abt 1709 and Ann Housley b abt 1709 in Nottinghamshire?
Thanks.
