William Tucker - Llangennith PRs
« on: Friday 16 February 07 18:10 GMT (UK) »
How would one go about searching PRs for this situation ?

Really appreciate any help / advice - I'm requesting this for a Welsh friend.

William Tucker born 1766 Llangennith, Glamorgan. (Married to Elizabeth Folland.)

Apparently the IGI revealed his parents - they were Philip and Blanch Tucker also of Llangennith.

Philip was allegedly married to Mary Walters before this but then remarried.

would like to know who Philip Tucker's parents were....

We think the Tuckers of Llangennith originally came from Devon or Cornwall but .....

Kind regards & thanks in anticipation. N

I have Glam baptisms and Glam marriages up to 1837, do you want to try confirm what you found on IGI?  Or do you want info just on Phillip?

Not a lot of info provided for early baptisms, all info given.

There are baptisms for three  'Phillip Tucker' will give you all anyway.

Philip Tucker (no parents listed) 25 Aug 1788 Cheriton (see map)
Phillip Tucker (father Benjamin no mother listed) 11 Aug 1751 Llangennith
Phillip Tucker father Phillip mother Mary 15 Aug 1756 Llangennith

William Tucker - Baptism  28 Feb 1766 Llangennith father Phillip mother Blanch, there are quite a few other children for this couple.

These are all marriages for Phillip Tucker to fit with timescale.

Philip Tucker m Anne Bynon  31 Jan 1709 in Cheriton, both of parish
Philip Tucker m Mary Walter 16 Apr 1750 Llangennith by banns both of parish
Philip Tucker m Blanch Tucker 21 Jan 1760 Llangennith by banns both of parish.

Wm Tucker m Elizabeth Folland 20 Jan 1789 Llangennith by banns both of parish.

Hope it helps some, let me know if I missed anything

Cas  :)

SuperStar !

Thats great to have the IGI verified too ...

None of the Phillips look old enough to be Williams (1766) Dad, so maybe the rumour about Devon / Cornwall was true ?

Many many thanks indeed - will pass on to my friend in Swansea.
