I found in the Torksey Parish records that John Bullivant married Martha Brown on the 4th July 1808 by special licence neither sets of parents were present. Would the special licence have more detail? Would I have to go to Lincoln to find out or could I ask the archives to look it up for me? Would that be expensive? I've hit a brick wall on John. He was sometimes called John Bullivant Robinson but I don't know where this surname comes from. As he dropped it later I assume his fathers name was Bullivant or mothers and the Robinson was a step father or adoptive fathers name but I can't be sure.
