William John Campbell, Mid 1850's, Ahoghill
« on: Saturday 17 February 07 12:40 GMT (UK) »
Hello all

First time here so I am hoping someone can help.

My great grandfather was called William John Campbell and was born in the mid 1850's and lived in Ahogill (Straid) in Antrim, Northern Ireland.

I am looking for more information on his father, called William and his mother, name not known, and any brothers or sisters.

Any help gratefully received.

Hi.
Could this be the family you are looking for ?.

William Campbell, a carpenter, wfe Mary Hill Craig.
Have five children to this couple.
1.
William John Campbell, 18 January 1861, Straid, Ahoghill, Co Antrim.
2.
David Campbell,19 June 1864, Straid, etc.
Birth registered on the 3 july 1864 by the father.
3.
Robert Campbell, 14 April 1874, Straid, etc.
Birth registered on the 1 May 1874 by the father.
4.
"male" Campbell, 6 February 1876, Straid, etc.
Birth registered on the 21 February 1876 by the father.
5.
Samuel Campbell, 20 June 1879, Straid, etc.
Birth registered on the 23 June 1879 by the father.

There could be other children between David and Robert.
Another Campbell marriage to a margaret Craig from Straid, in 1859, lists her father's name as John Craig, a weaver, was wondering if she could be a sister of Mary.
Hope this works in for you.
Regards,
Dixie
