I am looking for Josiah Jackson and Elizabeth. They also had a son but not sure if he was born before or after 1901, Archibald Jackson.

Elizabeth was born around 1857 in South Molton, Devon.

Her middle name was Hall.

Here we go, this might be why he's not in the 1901, found a death cert for a Josiah Billett Jackson, unless this chap is your Josiah's father

could the B be for Billett? It might be that he used the name James as I can't find an Archibald, will have a look for just Elizabeth and Archibald.

Found Josiah in earlier census', he was born in c1843 Revelstoke, Devon and he was a house painter who never married until he met your Elizabeth. In the 81 and 91 census he is living at 32 Clarence Place, East Stonehouse, Devon with his sister Jane and niece Florence, in the 71 census he is living in Newton Ferrers, Devon in the household of his brother-in-law William Henry Lapham and his sister Mary A. Lapham, Jane is also living in the same household. In the 61 census he is living alone in Plymouth and I can't locate him in the 51.
Looks like Elizabeth's maiden name might not have been Miles then, unless she had Mary illegitimately, would you like a look up for them in earlier census'?
