COMPLETED William ALDRIDGE - born circa 1825 in Thorpe
« on: Thursday 22 February 07 18:50 GMT (UK) »
I'm looking for the birth of William Aldridge born circa 1825 in Thorpe.  The IGI records do not appear to cover this period.  If anyone has access to parish records and could help I'd be grateful.

Many thanks

Hi Goughy,
I know this is an old post but did your William marry Ann Esther Jones.
If so then John and Amelia were his parents (John is also my ancestor)
John's parents were James and Sarah.
My John and Amelia had two children born in Thorpe William bapt 8 August 1826 and Ann baptised 1828.  Amelia died in 1828 and was buried in Thorpe and John went on to marry Mary Ann Maclean in Chelsea and lived in Bow for the rest of his life.
If these are yours please let me know as I can give you information on the lives of John and Mary Ann and James and Sarah.

Regards
Ann

I am a new member and have just come across this old post. My husband is descended from John Aldridge, through his daughter Sarah Jane, born 1848 in Bow. I would like to make contact with Ann to share information about this family. Many thanks.

Good evening all

I realise writing on this so many years after anything was last posted might be like being on a wild goose chase, however it is worth a chance.

I believe I too am descended from a William Aldridge born in Thorpe in around 1825. He later moved to the Midlands where he married an Ann Hickman. There seems to be some confusion as to whether my William was the son of John Aldridge and Amelia Beauchamp or another William and Hannah Collins.
William and Ann later had a son by the name of Robert, my 3x great grandfather.
Any information on William, his real parentage and the lives on John and Amelia would be much appreciated.
Many thanks
Blaine Aldridge
