My great granduncle Richard Matthews Tabor
Born in Fuggglestone or South Newton Wiltshire
Turned up in Portland Oregon as a Civil Engineer circa 1870
I am seeking details of his journey from Wilts to Oregon

Millman=Dorset-Australia
Oxlade=Buckinghamshire-Australia
Wilkins=Wiltshire-Australia

Was he ever naturalized as a U.S. citizen?  If so, it might be worthwhile to try to get a copy of his papers.

My cousin's grandfather's naturalization application listed the ship he came over on from Ireland.  Not all forms have that info; she was really lucky!

I just read your family group sheet on One World Tree and it looks like you've got a good history of the man.  I did find an immigration listing for him in 1883, probably returning after a visit home.

Arriving Jan 22, 1883 from Liverpool to New York---RMS Parthia
RM Tabor, 39, male, engineer, citizen of England, final destination
                USA, 3 pieces of baggage, protracted visit
