Is anyone researching the Suffolk family
« on: Saturday 03 March 07 00:20 GMT (UK) »
Hi,

I have just started researching the family of John and Elizabeth Suffolk.  Both John and his wife were born in abt 1819 - John in Burbage and Elizabeth in Lutterworth.  Both were framework knitsters and are at 5 Goodacre Street, Leicester on the 1861 and 1871 Censuses.

They had seven children, Henry (1843), Sarah (1845), William (1850), John (1852), Elizabeth (1854), Emma (1856) and George (born 10 March 1860 - died September 1888).

My main interest is Elizabeth (1854) my paternal great grandmother, but any information would be most welcome.

Hi Kismet ;D

I have John Suffolk's Baptism for You - 9 April 1820 Burbage son of John Suffolk & Elizabeth

Then the marriage of his parents 19 Oct 1813 Burbage John Suffolk to Elizabeth Dawson.

Do you know Elizabeth of Lutterworth's Surname?

Cheers :D

Hi Jan,

I had forgotten that I had posted this query.  Many thanks for the information and for your interest.

Elizabeth's surname was Faulkner, daughter of John Faulkner and Fanny Rainbow - I have lots of information and contacts now in relation to this particular (very large) family, but not a lot on Elizabeth herself or on the Suffolk side.

hello Kismet
Thanks for your response. Sorry - but I don't seem to be able to reply to your Personal Message.
My great, great grandfather was Joseph Faulkner, brother of Elizabeth. Joseph was born in Lutterworth in 1823.
I am also in the UK - in Northern Ireland.
