Philip Nobes - Steventon
« on: Monday 05 March 07 11:22 GMT (UK) »
Hello all

Philip Nobes appears in Steventon in 1772 when he marries Ann House.

Although he's 'of the parish' he wasn't baptised there and the IGI is not giving any possible sightings in other parishes.

I'm not discounting him maybe arriving from Oxfordshire or Hampshire, but can anyone find a possible baptism for him.

Thanks in advance.

There's also a Steventon in Hampshire where Jane Austen was born.

Hi Brig

It's definitely Berkshire, my family arrived in 1772 and were still there in 1950.
