1901 Census - Pentre
« on: Wednesday 07 March 07 12:07 GMT (UK) »
Does anyone know if chunks of the 1901 Census are missing?

I have Robert Scott living at 26 Pleasant Street, Pentre, in 1891 and dying at 11 Pleasant Street in 1912, but can't find him (or any of the family with him in 1891) in 1901.

I've looked on the 1901 website and on Ancestry.

I've also tried to find the records for Pleasant Street on Ancestry, but no sign. Ystradyfodwg parish is split into two: Llanwonno and Llantrisant. The 10 districts in Llanwonno are all in Rhondda Fach (and No 7 seems to be missing), while Pentre is in Rhondda Fawr. So I looked up the Llantrisant descriptions and found only District No 17 there. Were the other districts destroyed somehow or are they just absent from the online records for some reason?

Ricky, you're a marvel :)
   How did you find them?
I looked them up on Ancestry using the reference you gave and yes, they're there. I notice that the parish is referred to (correctly) as Ystradyfodwg, whereas when I tried to find them myself the spelling was Ystradyfoddwg - maybe someone has split them up and the "missing" districts were actually listed under the correct spelling.
Anyway, thanks a lot. And sorry to see about Jake.
