« on: Friday 09 March 07 16:23 GMT (UK) »
Hello  :),
Please could anyone find Agnes Dickie on the census transcripts. She had been recently widowed. She was born in 1824 Largs. She had Jane, Janet William, James, all born Bute.
Regards,
Inchworm  :)

Hi Inchworm

These are 2 transcriptions - you will have to check the originals on scotlands people or elsewhere, as Marital status is not provided here - also some of the spelling of names/ interpretations of people, places etc are suspect! (ie they had Agnes'  place of birth as "Sargo" - reading an old style L for an S no doubt - also doubt if the 3 DICKIE boys were really listed as servants in 1871:

Thanks for finding them. Yes, it does help a lot, even though the spellings are a bit suspect.  :D

Hi Inchworm,

I have looked at the original Census page on Scotlandspeople--it clearly stated that Agnes is 45 at the time of 1871 Census, not 43 as stated by Ambly.

Do PM me if you want this page for your file. :)

Kind regards,

Tees
