1850 & 1860 Census Illinois
« on: Wednesday 07 March 07 01:32 GMT (UK) »
In 1880 Emma Revell, born c1817, is listed with her daughter Emma Reese at Evanston, Cook, Illinois.

I believe that she is the widow of Fleming Hewett Revell and together they are the parents of Emma Charlotte who married Dwight L. Moody, reportedly 1862, also in Illinois.

Would appreciate any information about the family available from the census. They had a child in England prior to emigration in 1849 but a son was born in the US in 1851.

I am trying to learn something of Fleming and his roots.

Thank you.

Thank you Nicky.

I had hoped to learn more but it does establish that Fleming was a boat builder on both sides of the Atlantic.

Thank you Ohio Susan and genealiza.

A family myth said that Emma Revell who married Dwight L. Moody was a connection to the family of my husband, a band of Irish Revels, so I was trying to work backwards and roundabout to find out about Emma's father, also Fleming Hewett Revell. Hard to connect such a high sounding name to those which are a known factor.
