Hull area 1851 Census Lookup

 Looking for William Withernwick and Elizabeth Withernwick in the 1851 Census- Beverley - Hull area. (they would both be 40-41 yrs old in 51) I believe her maiden name was likely Scott. In 1854 they left the port of Hull coming to Canada with a Stephenson (Stevenson) family, that they were related too. In 1851 the Stephensons are found in Stoneferry, Sutton Parish (Hull area), but I'm not sure about the Withernwicks??
  The Scotts were I believe from Cottingham, with all the Stephenson children being baptised there.
William Stephenson - born 1814 at Doncaster West Yorkshire - married Mary Scott at Cottingham East Yorkshire (Hull) in 1838. Williams parents I believe were another Wm Stephenson and an Alice Carter - married Cantley Parish W Yorks (Doncaster) in 1811..... Other east riding names are Nicholls (Bridlington, Yorks and Wigan Lancs.) and the surname Withernwick.

Yes that likely is them - I believe the Elizth Withernwick was a sister of my ancestor: Mary Stephenson -- so that would make them both Scotts. I have what I believe to be their parents marrage as follows:  William Scott  married Mary Twidle - Jan 5, 1808 - Brantingham Yorkshire. Ellerker is very near Brantingham -- So again I'm going to say --- very likely them. THANKS
  And this also fits, with a bapt. record of a Wm Withernwick at Lund -- that seemed to fit with same in my family.

I recetly started tracing this and came across a note from you with an address in Withernsea, East Yorkshire. It was my mother's address. I would very much like to make contact with you if you are still out there!

 I am still out here. Back in 1985 .. there was an ad in the Feb 28 1985 issue of the 'Hull Star" .. it was about me .. searching for Scott relations in the Hull area .. and who you say was your Mom .. answered me back. She also sent me an old photo of some Scotts (that lived in Ontario, Canada) .. who had been over to Hull area for a trip (late 1940's I think) .. must of left them this old snap-shot .. and it got mailed back to me .. here in Ontario again.... I thought that was interesting
