Your battleship reminded me of one I had, Didy  - this post card was written and sent by my grandfather to a sister as he travelled on the Orontes to Australia in 1911.

it was interesting to read what my grandfather wrote on the back. Here is a little exerpt that shows that although my grandparents were married, they did not get to share a cabin.

The pic shows that the site now occupied by the opera house is still the tram shed - demolished in 1958. Also shown is the obvious bridge opened in 1932 . so that gives us a span of 26 years. I'm certain that someone will be able to narrow it down even further than 1932-58.
