Date please?
« on: Wednesday 14 March 07 20:18 GMT (UK) »
Among the items in a photo album my great aunt let me borrow are two scanned and reprinted images that I think are from one photo. I believe the man is the same as the man cut off in the one of the woman and the child's face. I'm trying to figure out who in the family they might have been, so it would be very helpful to have an idea when the original photo might've been taken.

Thanks very much!
Kathy

Hi Kathy  :)
Aren't they a beautiful couple  :)  Even through that beard you can see how handsome the fella is.

I would say this photo dates from the 1880s.  I hope that helps you work out who they are  :)

Cheers

Prue, your answer is exactly what I was hoping for. :) That would make the couple my GG grandparents. Their first two children were born in 1883 and late 1884, so that would most likely put this photo around 1885 or 1886, assuming that is a second child hinted at in the picture of (hopefully) John McLean. Thanks!

And thanks to Jim for the great clean up and David for putting them together. I appreciate your efforts!
