Hello, I am looking for any information about a John Lillico b. 1847 in Selkirk, or information from 1851 Census which would have siblings and parents names.

I have the transcriptions of the 1851 census but the only John Lillico  on there is 13 not 3. His parents were John Lillico and Ann Lillico, if you want the siblings let me know and i'll put them on here for you.

I'm not sure if it is the right John Lillico.  I am looking for information on a John Lillico who married janet Turner April 10, 1874 in Peebles.  He is my great-grandfather.  I have the information from the 1881 census that has the siblings of my grandfather Alexander Lillico.

If you have a look at John's 1874's marriage cert. on Scotlands People, it will give you the name of his parents. Like Dawn, the only John I could see in 1851 also was the older John. Given it is not a particular common name, he should be easy (famous last words  ) to find.

The John and Ann Lillico show with all their children born in Selkirk.

Do you have John and Ann Lillicos childrens names?  I have also found a John Lillico, he was 15 at the time, in the 1851 census with his brother Thomas (32) and sister Helen(40)

On going through the 1851-71 Censuses, this seems to be the only reference to a John b. Selkirk. The ages seem a bit out as you can see, certainly entries to check against the original image on SP. In particular, the 1871 is suspect in terms of ages and relationships:

I find that doing this can be frustrating trying to match family lineage.  I do have a picture of John Lillico who was my great-grandfather.  Where would I go for a copy of marriage certificate?
