My thought on this was that it was prewar, or early 1914ish, as the boys born 1908 and 1910 would be too small for post war, also their Dad didn't have his sergeant's stripes in the picture. But I really wanted to gather up some other opinions, as to the date of the costume.
I get the feeling that the memorial might have been at Yarmouth, and that it's maybe Boer War. On the stone, the vaguely seen head seems to be the early Victoria? So it might not be a ww1 memorial at all, maybe a horse trough or even a drinking fountain.
As I would really be pleased to know if it's still there...wherever...is there anyone say in Yarmouth could tell me yea or nay?
