Frederick Ballard

Looking for Frederick Ballard's death.  He was last found in the 1871 Census living with his family in North Shields. He was born in 1824 and his occupation is that of fisherman.

Hi Gumball,

Is this the Frederick Ballard married to Jane?  If so he's still in North Shields in 1881 ref RG11/5074 fol.91 p.5.  If not, what is the 1871 census ref and family details that you have?

Hi Barbara,
Yes, Frederick married Jane Morgan in 1843.  I have got my dates mixed Frederick did appear in the 1881 Census but I can't find him after that.  When I applied for Jane's Death Certificate (died 1893 age 68) I was told that Frederick was still alive so they couldn't issue me the Death Certificate of Jane. But I have not been able to find his death or any mention of him on other Census.  Some of his family moved north to Aberdeen, Scotland,  but I haven't found him there either.

Haven't found his death after 1891, or him in census 1901 sorry

Don't understand about not being able to get Jane's death cert, how could Frederick possibly still have been alive born 1824???

Shields Daily News index at North Shields library has the following:

15th Feb 1893:

Died at East Percy Street, North Shields on 14th, Jane BALLARD, wife of Frederick BALLARD.

13th April 1899:

Died at Aberdeen on 10th, Frederick BALLARD, husband of late Jane BALLARD.
