where do i search

My dad has asked me to try and find any of his old mates he served his national service with from 1949 to 1951,i dont know what site this request could go on.I did try looking at forces reunited but it didnt list my dads unit and that was probably because it only went back as far as 1971{OR AROUND ABOUT THERE}Would anyone know of a site where you can search for old comrades like my dad.Thankyou.Anne.

What regiment was he in Anne?  They might have a site of their own.

Hi Anne,

Have you tried applying to Channel 4 teletext (I think it's page 152), it's just before the family tree requests.

They carry requests from people looking for friends from their service days.

Friends Reunited have a forces section - alternatively you could 'search' some of the names that your Dad remembers to see if any of them registered on the schools site.
