Looking for any info of a marriage between Violet Mitchell and Mr ? Mcdonald

i wondered if anyone could help i have looked and looked for any marriage info between Violet Mitchell and Mr ?? McDonald and have found nothing. my next assumption is they may have married in Scotland but am unable to locate a BMD.

can anyone offer any advice about a way forward or any information about Violet herself, all/any info or help greatly received .

Do you have any idea of dates or areas?

If it was before 1855,they might have not been married in the Church of Scotland so any record might not have been transcribed on the usual sites.

If afterwards, they might have had a common law marriage which, although legal in Scots Law would not necessarily have been registered.

i have no idea of an exact date but i know she had a baby in 1944 so i'm guessing a marriage took place in the 20's or 30's or even early 1940s!!!!

if it were a common law marriage would she have changed her name? although she had a baby i dint think it was with him as his details are not on the birth certificate

although i fond the baby's birth certificate i'm struggling to find a marriage so i'm hoping to find a record of it in Scotland.

There's a marriage between a JAMES MACDONALD and VIOLET AUGUSTA MITCHELL in Canongate, Edinburgh in 1928. Do you know her parents' names that we could confirm?

i know her middle name was Ann (without an 'e') so i guess its not them.

at least everyone else appears to be having the same trouble with this as me so i dint feel quite so thick....lol.

i dint even know her date of birth but I'm guessing it has to be at least 1900 till about 1928 other wise she would have been too old or too young to have had a baby in 1944!!
