LDS and Ancestry // Completed
« on: Thursday 22 March 07 15:19 GMT (UK) »
Just heard the word, Ancestry are curtailing the Latter Day Saints access to most of the good stuff.

Apparantly too many are using this resource and they aren't getting a decent return or ANY extra customers.

So if you have been using Ancestry at the LDS, to look at the full census pages, etc, best to get in to gear and grab as much as you can.

There is nothing the LDS church can do, so DON'T blame them, just enjoy this resource till it ends, on 1st of May.

Really annoying as they have just added the Scottish Census Indexs for 1871 and 1891.

Tho on reflection, LDS film orders for English Census films must have stopped dead after the intro of computer views !

Serious mistake, they terminated access on April 1st.  :-X

So annoying because the new scottish indexes were really helping (even tho the spelling is as bad as all Ancestry indexing) and being able to see the actual English census page, you could check against the poor indexing for the english.

So they left only access to English and Wales census indexs (with all the shocking spelling), a total of 28 access points out of the 5,000 odd that Ancestry has.  :(

and NO ONE in the local LDS !!!
