William Dickinson b.c. 1809 in Timperley

Seeking information on William Dickinson, born about 1809 in Timperley, Cheshire. Father of Edward Dickinson (aged 19)      , who married an Elizabeth Wilson (aged 18) in Manchester Cathedral on 10th. June 1849. Would be grateful for any assistance. Ron H.

         Do you have any more info on him, census ? occupation ? do you have Edward in the 1841 census ?

Hello, Peter, I can't find either William on any 141 or 1851 censuses. My contact in Canada has the marriage certificate of Edward and Elizabeth which shows William to be a "turner". I have found Edward on the 1861 census as a Engine smith with his family in Salford: on the 1871 census he's living in Sheffield as a steel tire roller and in 1881 he's down in Wales in Methyr Tydfil as a "fitter". None of which helps in pin - pointing his dad. If I could find a date for Edward's birth in Timperley this would be the clue I need. Thanks for your interest - I would welcome anything further. here is the 1861 which may or may not help us in finding edward in earlier cencuses-
living in salford manchester

cant seem to find either edward or wife in 1851 although as they married in manchester and wife and all kids say born salford they should be there somewhere

Thank you ,Alli, Have this info. already plus the 1871 and 1881 details. Unfortunately cannot find anythinf for either Edward or his dad, the elusive William, on either the 1841 or 1851 censuses. The search continues but thanks again for your interest. Best wishes.. Ron H.

At the time you are researching - 1800/1840 say - Timperley was in the parish of Bowdon. 
May be able to help in due course if you can't make headway yourself or through the list .
