LAY family, Bradfield

Hi all

Would appreciate any help finding details on Angelina Kate Lay b. 1905 and Arthur Edward Lay b. 1907, Bradfield Berks.

Have birth refs but no parents names, dont really want certs just confirmation.

Mother could possibly be Sarah Ann Lay (1884-1957) or Isabella Tigwell [(1858)(married to Richard Lay)]

Hi there,
The only way that you will get confirmation is by buying the certificates or finding their baptisms in the Parish Registers at the BRO.  I have Lay families in Bradfield and the area on my tree but the links are much earlier than those that you are requesting.

Hi,
many thanks for your reply.  Unfortunately cant get to the BRO - down here in the depths of Cornwall, and from what Ive read on other postings they're not overly helpful and a bit expensive.

Your earlier Lays' - would they include a William married to an Ann Waite?

Other possible family connections Ballard and Buss, all from the same area.

Richard Lay had siblings dating from 1838 - 1854.

Hello,

My great grandmother was Isabella Tigwell but I am afraid I do not know of any children born after those that appear on the 1901 census, but have sent you a personal message re my connection.

My GGF was Richard Lay and I do not know very much about the Lay side, nearly all my information relates to the Tigwell line. I know Richard was born 1856 at Blewbury, Berks, and his parents were William and Ann, but I have yet to order a birth certificate to confirm this.  I would, however, be very interested to hear from anyone with a link to Richard Lay.
