Death Look-Up Please Between 1881 and 1891

Hi,

I am trying to find the death of Alexander Drysdale born 1835 in Colessie who married Margaret Wilkinson born 1834 in Scoonie, in Inverkeithing in Dec 1864.

I can't find him on the Scottish census after 1881 where he was living with wife in 56 Crossgate, Cupar, Fife.

His wife Margaret is still there in 1891 with their son William. Ref. Roll

Any help would be very much appreciated.

found it for you... details are as follows.

Alexander Drysdale, married to Margaret Wilkenson died March 8th 1884 at 39 Priory Lane Dunfirmlane aged 49

Parents listed as being Alexander Drysdale Blacksmith deceased and Margaret Drysdale nee Scott deceased.

Cause of death Inflamation of the bladder, for one year.

Death registered by his son Alex. Drysdale address (Bridge Street Leven)

Here's his birth and christening now:

  • ALEXANDER DRYSDALE
    Birth: 05 FEB 1834      
    Christening: 26 FEB 1834 Collessie, Fife, Scotland
    Parents: ALEXANDER DRYSDALE & MARGARET SCOTT

Siblings: William (b. 1838), Magdalene (b. 1835) John (b. 1840) and Henry (b. 1829), who was registered in both Collessie and Govan, Lanarkshire.  ;D Their parents married the 5th of August 1825 at Collessie.

Edit: Hope you don't mind me searching but looks like both Alexander and Margaret were buried in Collessie Churchyard.

Super!! I don't mind you looking at all. :D

I was just about to ask for their marriage and place of, also any other children. Couldn't see anything that matched on the Scottish census for 1841/51. But will now look again.

And the gravestone inscription:

Margaret Scott wife of Alexander Drysdale died 25.5.1857 age 56
Alexander Drysdale died 26.10.1871 age 71

Also three children: Ann, Walter & Magdalne

And it seems like Alexander Snr was also known as James. There's three other children for a James Drysdale and Margaret Scott; Robert 1847, James 1851 and Isabella 1849.  ???
