Not in the least bit cheeky bit Im dying to know why!!
I have his parents his siblings, his grandparents, most of it.
His father was William Shearer, shoemaker in Thurso his mother Barbara Campbell daughter of Donald Campbell and Margaret nee Campbell, carpenter and wood merchant in Thurso.
They started married life in Cowgate one of the 'lesser' streets of Thurso and ended up in Janet Street where the big houses were, which Donald Sutherland (Connected, he married Prof William's sister Margaret)Sutherland built several houses, or so family word has it.I have contact with a descendant of his.
The three eldest sons went to university possibly Oxford??
William Alex Campbell Shearer was Born 1832 in Thurso.
I dont know for sure who he married but in FreeBMD I found a Jane Harrison married in West Derby June 1850 and a Jane Shearer who died Bradford 1866. Needs checking and confirmation.
