Help with mystery pic please

Just checked he also trained in Paulson & Portage La Prairie Manitoba, so there were probably tons of training bases besides these...re: the photo Help me out as to what denotes it is a train station? J.J.

JJ...where to start? Have a look at the thread called "My mystery pic" on the Photo Restore board...Polldoll did a very nice screen on the signature that really shows it up. Unfortunately we still can't read it it is already scanned at 1200, but I can rescan it up to 4800 if necessary!

I had decided it was a train station because Mom grew up in MacGregor, and if you lived there you took the train into Winnipeg, that's all. Do you think it might be something else?

I sent the pic to the MacGregor town council to see if anybody there could identify it, still waiting...

Actually, there's probably a little truth to it. I couldn't understand a pack of Geordies who came into my pub in London, even though we were all speaking the same language. Sort of the same language

Any language group that splits off and remains isolated for decades is going to develop vowel shifts and slang that makes it hard to be understood by the mother group. Quebec slang and the accent can be rough.

That's so true China, in the chat room there are English lessons, Canadian Lessons and Austrailian Lessons, it's quite fun to learn the different words.

I was in Las Vegas over the weekend and I asked what kind of pop they had and the server looked at me like I had two heads, forgot that in the USA they say Soda

Oui, c'est vrai... Not that I am good at speaking French, but was born in a French town and we were taught Parisian French, guttural accent and all...and when I visited Quebec they laughed and laughed and asked me why I was doing that... All across the country, the accents and ways of speaking can change as the dialect and colloquialisms reflect the surrounding community... Some speak almost half French & half English mixed and it's quite the conversation... Non?...... Eh?.... J.J.

Don't think Doll got it any clearer than I did, China...so could you pretty please...just the handwriting only, so as not to take up too much room, scan at high res but twice the size, 16 bit if you can.
Just to see if I can't get something out of it. A name might just help, and I am beyond curious...but post it here as well, please, as I won't find it on the other board... Or post a link for me?
