c1840 birth certificates and maiden names

Has anyone ordered a birth certificate from the late 1840's and found the mothers maiden name on it?  Certificates from the 1860's show the maiden name,  but did they in the 40's?

Yes, they are in the same format from the start of civil registration (July 1837).

which is the format of a birth certificate in the 1836 Act.
Death Certificates are Schedule B and Marriage Certificates Schedule C

 Hi Across the pond,
 
               I recently sent off my my gtgtgrandfathers birth cert which was registered in the 4th qtr of 1837 , just after civil registration was brought in and his mothers maiden name was on the certificate , so i would have thought if it was on then it was  on in the 1840's just as it still is today.
