Census night in 1841?

I recently read on
www.1841-Census.co.uk
that "the census was taken on June 6, covers midnight on June 6th and 7th (the midnight time period also applies to each following census".
Does that mean that the 1841 households might have been recorded at any time of the day? So the children could be listed with their childminders and the adults at their work addresses etc?
I had always thought census night, was census
night

'The 1841 Census for England was taken on the night of 6 June 1841. .... Enumeration forms were distributed to all households a couple of days before census night and the complete forms were collected the next day. All responses were to reflect the individual's status as of 6 June 1841 for all individuals who had spent the night in the house. People who were traveling or living abroad were enumerated at the location where they spent the night on census night.'

Thanks!
To what does that 24hr period mentioned, refer, do you think?
When would they have collected the completed forms?

Midnight = 6th June. 1 minute past = 7th June, so obviously the night of the 6th June also includes the early hours of the morning of the 7th June.
