Fred Saxton
« on: Monday 16 April 07 22:25 BST (UK) »
I was told that my uncle was named after his uncle, a Fred Saxton from Nottingham, who died in World War I. I have looked on the Commonwealth Graves Commission site but cannot distinguish which would be the correct Frederick Saxton. From memory, I think there were 3 named. I don't think that next-of-kin or parent's names are mentioned. Can anyone help please?
Blair, Marshall, Williamson - Ayrshire, Wigtownshire
Saxton, Sketchley - Nottinghamshire, Leicestershire
Brown, Green - Rutland
Hawker, Malone, Bradbury, Arnott, Turner, Woodings, Blakemore, Upton, Merricks - Warwickshire, Staffordshire
Silvers, Dudley, Worcs
Deakin - Staffordshire

Thanks for that. How did you find out he was born and bred Nottingham? As he was born c1884 I was hoping to find out whether he had a wife and family. I shall obviously have to await the release of the 1911 census.
Thanks again for your time.

Upon looking at the WGC site once again, I find that there are two other Saxtons which could be possibles. One, an F W, and another Frederick William, but I have no idea where they came from. Any suggestions please?
