Wallmans from ?Merton
« on: Wednesday 18 April 07 21:53 BST (UK) »
I wonder if I can pick the brains of other Norfolk researchers?
In 1815 4xgrandfather Edmund George Fox m Susan Wallman.  In 1820 Buscall Fox m Ann Wallman. The Fox brothers came from Merton but were wed in the next village, Watton.  Has anyone come across the Wallman girls?  I've had no luck tracing them at all. I'm not even sure that they were sisters.
Would also be grateful for any info on the Merton Foxes  - Edmund was the son of George & Susan nee Buscall but there I run out of steam.

Its quite possible these are related.
Watton, Mary Wallman baptised 15th Oct 1787 , also Sarah Wallman baptised 6th Nov 1788 both daughters of of John & Charlotte Wallman late Buscall.

Watton would be a Town.

Hi Blue Spirit - once again you've launched me through the wall!  I've looked at the Watton registers until I was blue in the face but I didn't notice the Wallman girls.  The Buscalls & Foxes seem to have intermarried quite a bit - George Fox (Edmund's father) m Susan Buscall.  And even tho' she remarried after widowhood, she was buried with the Fox graves at Merton.
Hope the back is less troublesome than it was

I have various information on various local villages,, but don't seem to be able to find  any  Wallman except Watton.

Perhaps some one else can find something on Ann & Susan Wallman births.

Back is a little better but still giving me trouble, thanks.

all the best..

I should have also included. know it s not excatly what you were looking for, but might come in.
Mary Wallman married James Munnings of Merton married/banns in Watton 18th Oct 1810.
Mary died Merton 13th July 1867, as did James 20th May 1843.
1841 census of Merton suggests there was a 20 yr age difference James being 70 and Mary 50.

Rooting around I find there were Wallmans (?Wallmen) in Cambridge- I think the Watton/Merton end of Norfolk isn't so far from the boundary...
