Higham on the Hill burials anyone?
« on: Saturday 21 April 07 11:04 BST (UK) »
Hi all  :)

Does anybody have access to Higham on the Hill burials?

If so, I'd love to find out whether there's a death (between 1813 and 1841, I'd expect) for a John Corrall/Currell/Currin (or variants  ;D) born ca. 1810.

Background: I'm trying to prove or disprove that the John Corrall christened 11 July 1813 in Higham is my John Currin who dies in Sedgley 1849.

Would be very grateful for any help

Tanja :)

Greeting's....... Tanja.

Having looked on the batch No.'s
there seems to be something amiss
there is 3 Baptisms for
John Corrall in Higham _ on - the - Hill  Parish
all with Parents John & Ann.
Years being 11/03/1804, 05/07/1807, & 11/07/1813.

Which would point to possible early deaths ?
Unfortunately my burial disks doesn't cover Higham - on - the Hill
to check theses out

So if you would like I'll have a look at the Parish Burial Registers for St. Peter's
To cover the above years Plus up-to 1841.
This coming Thursday at the Leicestershire Records Office
and report back. ?

The only Higham - on - the - Hill Marriage which shows up on my disks

Mary Corrall. ~ Samuel Mellor. 1833. By Banns.
Who are within the Household of Elizabeth Currin (80)
1841. Census returns.

Oooh Mike, I was hoping the burials were indexed - what a shame  :(

My interest is in the boy christened in 1813 - I'm trying to prove that he's the John Currin who marries a Hannah Barnes in Kingsbury in 1836 (you'd think he could have waited a year until the start of civil registration ::)).

Thanks a million for your offer but I imagine trawling through the pages for a ca. 30 year time frame would take too much time and effort  :-\ :-\ I'm not comfortable asking for it, especially as I'm hoping there isn't a burial for him  :-[  :-\

LOL Mike, it's of immense interest to me !!! I dread to think how much time you have spent on it :-[ but I'm a very very happy person right now  :D  :D

I'm just so sure the John christened 1813 is mine now. And you have found his parents burials too! Let's see if I can also adopt the Thomas who dies age 90 in 1807 (greedy now  ;D - when I thought I'd never get past John's marriage!!)

Please accept virtual jeroboam (= big bottle) of best champagne and  :-*

Yoohoo !!!  8)
