To start, I found a death record for a John Secker in Sauk of 27 Sep 1883. There is no date of birth, but in 1880, there is also Charles's father living with them, named John, so I assume that is him.

I'll keep looking around for him.

I have spent a little time looking and can't come up with anything that could be him. There is one in Minnesota, but the age is off and the mother was born in Ireland. And that is the closest I can come. Do you know where he ended up?

Hi Kath sorry i have no idea where he ended up, i am starting to wonder if he returned to England as did his uncle Robert Secker. I will check British census records from 1881 on-wards, you never know!

Thanks for all your help Kath, regards Adrian
