Gravestone project
« on: Sunday 22 April 07 13:37 BST (UK) »
Just found this useful link which already contains a fair amount of information on burials and monuments.

Also it might be worth volunteering to help.

I'd love to be able to be part of something like that. I see there are Queensland cemeteries being indexed, so I might contact them to see what's happening.

Hi

Thanks for this link MrsLizzy.

Looks really interesting! Couldn't see anything for Cheshire, sadly.  I think it's a brilliant idea to take pictures of these monuments for future researchers as the inscriptions will not last forever.

Jayson - there are a few photo's of graves in Cheshire on the Carl's Cam site
http://www.carlscam.com/index.html
Pic's are mainly war memorials but there are some gravestones eg at Hatherlow & Wincle

Great site. I looked and found nothing for my family. I have put a few grave sites on Find a Grave. It definitely is important to record as many as possible.
