1871 Census Lookup Please

Could someone do a 1871 Census lookup for Henry McAllum,born Newcastle 1834,possible marriage partners Margret Roney or Mary Bridget Wallack.Henrys parents names were Duncan McAllum and Eliza Donkin.As always I am gratefull for any help received.Gereon.

If your marriage option was in Newcastle and in 1869, then Margaret Roney ( spelled that way according to Newcastle Reg Office web site) married the "other fellow" James McGivern.

N/C RO site has it that Henry married Mary B Wallace.

Do you have Henry on other censuses ?

And do these censuses reflect a birth year of 1834 in Newcastle.

I ask this because I can see no candidate to meet these criteria !


Now if your Henry was born in Ireland in c1811 and called McCallan then I might have a candidate... only half-kidding !

The McAllum family are on the 1841 Northumberland census as Allum.  Henry is shown as 7 years old

I'm afraid your Henry McAllum is proving very elusive - despite the 1869 marriage

I can't find a Margaret McAllum and this is the only Mary I could find but given that one of her daughters is a widow, it suggests she is a lot older than Henry and as the marriage you found was 1869 - I doubt this is the right entry

Main St Corbridge - no ages or birthplaces shown and they are all shown as "Temporarily absent - visiting"

Elizabeth Beadle daughter widow
William Beadle grandson

Remember that website where I found Hugh & Ida's marriage - well here's Henry's.  Looks like Mary was previously married.  Venue unknown
