1815 Marriage

My 2nd Great Grandparents married on 31 May 1815, in St. John's, Preston, Lancashire. My query is, is there any way of getting access to their information from a Parish register re: dates of birth, religion etc & did that sort of information exist on a Parish marriage entry? I imagine that marriage certificates didn't exist & I'm trying to track the birth & parents of both of these ancestors.

Any help would be great.

Hi Mike

Marriage entries never show dates of birth - just ages at that time.  If both were over 21 - it's likely the entry would just show their ages as "Full"

Religion is also never shown although the denomination of the church they married in can sometimes be a clue - but not always

Fathers names were only shown on marriages from 1.7.1837.  If you are lucky and the banns are still available for the marriage you are looking for, you might get some info about parents
