RE;death before 1855

I have just realised the person I was looking for may not have died in scotland
I was searching the death of Gregory Dunleavy Born ireland
but realised I hadn't seen him on any of the censuses for greenock.
No Dunleavy's appear untill the 1871 census
yet Bridget's age is given as 18 means she would have been born 1853 birth place is given as renfrewshire

It's also a good idea to keep related items as one thread - or link them so 3 different folks don't check the same thing

Deaths (church funeral records) in Scotland pre 1855 are tricky - you are more likely to find memorial inscriptions. You can find deaths by manually searching parish records. neither the LDS or Scotlands people have indexed them.

Fortunately for Gregory, he was alive in 1861
