Dear Jo
I've just managed a bit of quick research at N Devon Reference Lib. The convent school was founded in 1904 by the Ursuline Nuns with an emphasis on "ladylike manners, the French language & Needlework" - no mention of restriction to Catholics. It was refounded as Stella Maris in 1924. The original site was Northwood House
