Completed: Burial lookup: Tait
« on: Wednesday 25 April 07 10:05 BST (UK) »
Hi
I'm wondering if someone out there can help me. I'm seeking burial details for William Tait [died 1908] and Elizabeth E. Tait [died 1914] - both deaths were registered at Stockton.
Thanks

You should be able to get their burial information from the local council offices if you have the death dates.

The local history department may have grave numbers for you.

You could try prestonhallATstockton.gov.uk which is the local Museum.  You should tell them where the people were living in 1901 (or later if you have the information) as that will point them in the direction of a cemetery.

They may direct you to the cemeteries department for help.

I got information on grave numbers etc in Sunderland by doing this.

Hi Ashley.

According to Stockton roots it looks like Elizabeth Emma Tait was buried Oxbridge cemetery, 02/12/1914.
Hope this is your lady, unfortunately theres no sigh of William.

Regards

Mick.

Thanks for the information.

I contacted Stockton Roots not long back - very helpful people - they were able to confirm both burials at Oxbridge - William was mistranscribed as Taft.
