Hello.. please can anyone help..

I have a Henry and Martha Bevan .. on the 1881 census.. rg11  5244  95  11

There is another couple ,, Henry and Martha Bevan..  rg11  5244  96  14

    the first couple is my family.. but i cannot find any census details for henry born sirhowy.. for 1841.. 1851.. 1861...
     they had a daughter margaret jane bevan.. born sirhowy.. please can someone help???... thankyou..

Hello, Jui,

I have checked both the piece nos you give for the 1881 census for the Bevan name.  The first one,RG11/5244  folio 95 page 11,  that you say is your couple shows  just Henry age 58 & Martha age 58.  The second one, RG11/5422  folio 96 page 11 is not a couple but sister & brother in law.

I did find a Margaret Jane Bevan, if you follow the census info,  you might be able to tie them in together.

Hello ,Thankyou for your trouble ... but.

i will try to keep clear.. the 1881 census with martha and brother in law william,   
        william was  the other henry  bevans brother,  her maiden name was mathews.. her henry died in 1877..william and martha eventually married each other...      my henry and martha as stated were on the census with my harris's.. itis impossible for martha to be in 2 places at once , and as the ist henry died 1877 .. i am still confused....
        the other thing puzzling me is..   
if henry and martha were my thomas harris's parent in laws would this be stated on the census?..

does anyone know  if its possible the 2 marthas are the same person .. and that someone put her down  as being "at home" when  she was in fact out visiting please?
        Also as Henry had passed away in 1877.. do you think someone put him down on the Harris's census?...
       How can i tell if this is the same Martha... anyone any ideas please?

Hi Jui

Looking at the 1881 Cencus with Henry, Martha and the Harris family - Do you know, or think that Margaret Harris is their daughter? 

Two of your other questions

1. It is quite possible that Henry and Martha ARE the inlaws, but are listed as boarders. I have a Father living with son and family & he is listed as a lodger!

2. Some folks do get mentioned on a census twice - but not usually as a widow in one place and married in another. I don't think the 2 Marthas are the same person 

I will see if I can find Margaret Harris in 1871 as she looks to have had oldest son William by then.

I can find Margaret in 1871 but no joy yet with another Bevan family - other than the one found by Meliora. Do you know if your Martha and henry had any other children?

I dont know if Margaret had any other brothers or sisters .. i am litterly going on her birth certificate, and marriage certificate..

i am confused because of the 1881 census ... with the two marthas and henrys... i am still trying to find the other Bevans .. in  previous census's..
crazy..

i  have found in 1861 rg9 4004 47 1... looks like difficulty in finding anything to do with the Bevans  lots of "errors in spelling....
