Do you mean families called Embleton or families from Embleton? If it's the former, one of my gr gr gr grndmother's was Mary Embleton, born Wooler in the early 1800's. That's as much as I know so far - except her father/brothers were called George and William. If you have any information on this family I'd be interested.

Morning to you all, I live in the village of Embleton and I posed the question on behalf of a friend who is researching the family named 'Embleton' from North Northumberland. Any help would be greatly received. Bobh

Hi,
I have an Ann Embleton (1790) in my tree she married William Hodson, (or Hodgson - dependent on which records you are looking at). Their son William Embleton Hodson married Ann Pigford. I am a descendent of the Pigford family.
Ann Embleton's parents were William Embleton (1771 from Morepeth)) and Ann Middleton. Lineage going back is as follows;
John Embleton c1745 Morpeth and Elizabeth Brewis (1742, Whalton).
John Embleton (1719 Stannington) and Elizabeth Hodgson (1723, Stannington).
Richard Embleton (1687 Bamburgh) and Elizabeth Gibson (1689 Bamburgh).
Richard Embleton c1662 Bamburgh.
William Embleton c1637 Bamburgh.
Is ths any use?
Kate.
Thornton, Pigford, Toaduff: County Durham.
Anderson, Parkin, Farnsworth, Broomhead: Lincs and Notts.
Kane: Liverpool / Ireland.

I am looking for a member Kate of KMFRoberts who pasted a message 19 May 2007 about Embleton Families.
I now find I have several Embleton and Hodgson families in my file
and would love to hear from her.
Ernie in Australia.
