I live in US & am a Slaughter. Would love any information of anyone having knowledge of their ancestors coming to US.

I have absolutely no information about the Slaughters except that they settled in the state of Virginia.

Hi

The marriage of Thomas and Ursula did not take place at St Mary's - I will check other parishes for you.

Their children (baptised at St Mary's) were:

Susan, bapt 24 Jan 1762
Rebecca Kennett, bapt 28 Sept 1766
Elizabeth Pilcher, born 19 Oct 1768, bapt 20 Nov 1768
Mary Chalk, born 9 Mar 1771, bapt 19 May 1771

There are quite a lot of SLAUGHTER BMDs in this parish.

Will see what else I can find.

Regards, Bill

Hi,
Perhaps another link you may like to follow is that the naming of their children as Kennett, Pilcher and Chalk may well be a reference to either the mothers' maiden name or to another relative family.

Their children (baptised at St Mary's) were:
Susan, bapt 24 Jan 1762
Rebecca Kennett, bapt 28 Sept 1766
Elizabeth Pilcher, born 19 Oct 1768, bapt 20 Nov 1768
Mary Chalk, born 9 Mar 1771, bapt 19 May 1771

I'm interested in and Elizabeth Pilcher who married a Robert Matson in 1781 at Swingfield near Dover so there could be a link.
Let me know what you think.

MATSON-East Kent.  HURST- Oxfordshire.
