1861 census request Norfolk
« on: Wednesday 10 March 04 15:09 GMT (UK) »
My gt gt grandfather was born and bred in Shouldham Norfolk so I am assuming that in 1861 his parents lived there. Could anyone check for the surname Grief in this area for me.  Many thanks.

Hi Anjo no I have been unable to do much recently due to family illness, just beginning to pick up again.  If you have any info it would be much appreciated. Jean

Had another look through the 1861 census for Elijah and found this one

Elijah Greef    34   Ag  Lab  b. Shouldham
Sophia  "        29                             "
Harriet  "         7                              "
Walter  "         5                              "
Lucy     "         11mts                       "
Rhoda Hitteringham/hutteringham  Mo in law 57 b. Stoke Ferry
William Hitteringham/hutteringham Bro in Law 18 b. Shouldham,

Don't know how I missed him the first time but I do find it easier looking for a full name rather than just  the Surname

All the best and Ho Ho Ho merry xmas !!!

Hi glad the info was useful. I would have thought Robert and William were the brothers possibly.

James is Williams son living with him in 1841 age 12 then newly wed in 1851 age 22

if Robert was James brother William would have been 9 when he had him!!!!

Hope you sort them all out. All the best Angela
